5 Things for Navigating Big Contrast
Some contrast feels worse than others, but no matter what's happening that you might not like, the process for a conscious creator is the same:

We use our awareness of what we don't want to turn attention to what we do want. So simple, so powerful! That shift in focus, along with honoring inspirations (which just means do what feels better), is all we ever have to do in service of the reality we prefer.

Whatever contrast you might run across, this is a reliable response.

I'd also suggest that the worse the contrast is, the more important - and more challenging - it can be to practice this. Deep fear can take us out of our power, and in that disempowered state our actions will not yield the results we want.

But big contrast also spurs strong desire, and that is a powerful element in successfully creating what we want.

Remember what you know about where reality comes from: your focus, your imagination, your thoughts and stories. And you know how to choose those - we've been practicing this for a while! ("I was made for this moment," as my friend Rose said on a recent GVU call.)

This is what I'm also reminding myself this weekend:

1. We don't need anyone else to do anything different in order to have what we want. Our well-being is not dependent on others! We each create our own reality. We call the shots here. What they're doing doesn't have to affect what we're doing when we keep our eyes on our own paper.

(That's what I use to help redirect my thoughts when I start wondering who in our elected office will do something to fix this?! It's not about them, I remember. It starts with me, here, now. They can't fix what I keep in place through my focus. So ... what do I want? What does that feel like? Two simple questions that get my attention back to a place that serves me.)

We don't all want the same things, and that's okay. We were never meant to all agree on what's good and right and desirable. We don't have to change others in order to have what we each want. What is it that we want, again? Remind yourself regularly. Attention goes there for best results.

2. Feeling the feelings is part of it. Resisting or denying our feelings takes a lot of energy and is exhausting. (That's why it feels better to acknowledge them. It's why it's called a "good cry." Although feeling the feelings doesn't have to include tears.)

It's okay - actually, I'd say it's essential - to feel our feelings in order to process them and continue evolving. As Bashar says, "You cannot change what you do not own."

It's not a failing as a manifestor to feel fear, outrage, discouragement, despair, revenge ... It's okay to feel whatever we feel; just don't stay there. Own it and keep moving. Continue your vibrational journey up by feeling what's there and then reach for something better after that. (And remember, sometimes better feeling thoughts aren't pretty. Like when I start wondering about assassins and heart attacks. It's a process, so keep going!)

3. As long as I'm aware of the problem, I'm part of it. My awareness of what's wrong co-creates exactly what I don't want. Recognizing this means I can take responsibility for my creation instead of blaming others, thinking they're doing something to me. What do I want? How does that feel? That's where answers come from.

4. Take the wins wherever I can. Even if they seem minuscule, they'll accumulate and can help keep attention directed in a helpful way. Little wins give reasons to believe and to hope and to celebrate, and that's good momentum to work with. Distraction is also a legitimate vibration management strategy. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

5. Sometimes, the obstacle is the way. The very thing I think is messing things up can be the piece that makes everything even better. It's not that we will thrive despite this element, but rather because of it. That thought helps me drop my resistance to whatever I'm viewing as the problem and that released resistance (increased allowing) makes way for the miracle that wants to unfold next.

And miracles are what I'm in the mood for. Good news, happy days, peace, cooperation, support and love. Every time I turn attention back to what I want, I become the cooperative component that allows those things to manifest.

I live in Utah where many people I know and love celebrate the things that make me cringe. So I know that my contrast is someone else's idea of success. But sooner or later contrast comes for us all, so when it's your turn, just remember you know how this works and you're really good at working the system the way it was intended. Whether that feels like your truth or an affirmation, it will point you in a helpful direction.
