Give Universe the Benefit of the Doubt

Sometimes it looks like we're not getting what we ordered up from Universe.

Like the relationship is fading instead of heating up. Or the health is deteriorating instead of improving.

But let's not be so quick to conclude Universe isn't answering our dreams.

Because sometimes when it looks like things are going haywire, they're actually unfolding in favor of your highest desire ... you just can't see the whole picture yet.

That happened to me this month when my favorite dog presented with a tumor.

That is not what I intend for my dogs.

I regularly affirm that they are happy healthy animals with fabulous days ahead.

Yet there we were sitting in the surgery center with me starting to imagine the worst. (This was his second tumor in as many years.)

This is not what I wanted, Universe!

I thought I'd done a decent job of practicing the vibration of long life and great health ... why this?

Well, we always get what we vibrate. No ifs, ands, or buts. So maybe I wasn't as dialed in on great health as I thought. Maybe I've been getting nervous as he gets older about how much more time he has. That's probably true.

And maybe I'm too attached to him sticking around, which I try not to be, but when push comes to shove I can sure feel my preference for him staying.

So it could be my misalignment. 

But it could also be true that I'm simply misinterpreting events.

Imagine you're Universe on the other end of my instruction for happy healthy dogs. And you know that one of those dogs is growing a little somethin' somethin' that might not support that outcome.

So maybe you line things up to inspire me to have his anal glands expressed and you make sure someone notices something a little off so that it can get handled.

That's not something gone wrong, that's an answer to my prayers for long happy life.

I'm not saying it is, but it sure could be. And I wouldn't be doing either of us a service to stick with a negative conclusion.

We come to those unhelpful conclusions often, I've noticed. We're quick to give up on our dream and decide that what we wanted isn't happening.

• Like when a date goes bad and we conclude it an unsuccessful manifestation of true love. But maybe Universe was just getting the jerk out of the way to make room for Mr. Right who's waiting in the wings for his cue?

• Or when our money doesn't seem to be accumulating as intended, but it's just Universe putting us in the right place at the right time to say yes to the thing that makes the big difference. Who knows?

Yes, it's also possible we weren't offering the vibrational instructions we thought we were. That's worth evaluating.

But if you check in and feel confident you've been sending the proper signal, it might be worth cutting Universe some slack and trusting that it knows what it's doing.

Says the girl who just got back from the oncological vet who removed the growth and gave Joe a good prognosis for happy healthy years to come. 

“Age is not a disease,” she told me, when I said something that reflected my lowered expectations about his health due to age. She pointed out all his indicators that support a good prognosis.

I actually walked out of there expecting more time with my favorite guy than I believed in even before the tumor presented itself. And that's clear evidence of Universe responding to my intention for happy healthy dogs.

As I learned personally in this experience, if you find yourself assuming something gone wrong with your manifesting, it might be worth considering that it might actually be going right. :)
