In Defense of Terrorists

In Defense of Terrorists

If you really don't like it, guess what's coming?

Conscious creators know the answer to that question.

If you'd like to have a different experience, you need a different vibration. No getting around it.

There are two ways to do that:

  1. Watch the baby elephants play. (Or any pleasant diversion of attention.)
  2. Or soften your thoughts about the subject you don't like.

Either approach works just fine.

I practice both.

The thing about those "terrorists" - try as I might see them as portrayed on the news - hate-filled bad guys that should haunt our worst nightmares - all I could see was a couple of handsome young men. Brave. Committed. Resourceful. Successful even, depending on your perspective.

(I pride myself on being able to find different perspectives, because that's where better feeling thoughts come from. And better feeling thoughts is the name of the alignment game.)

In fact, how can you not admire this part of their story? ... The whole world is against them, and yet that doesn't stop them. They don't have a lot of resources, and yet they're getting the job done. The solopreneur in me has respect for that.

Knowing what we know about the law of attraction, it made me wonder how much the mainstream resistance to their dream has fueled their success.

Because it's a law of attraction thing. When we really get it, it changes our approach to everything.

Yes, they have a different dream than I do, but we all get to do it however we want. No one can stop us from living what we prefer unless we pay attention to what we don't want. And that's on us, not them.

"You wouldn't feel that way if they hurt your loved ones, Jeannette." That's muggle thinking there, but a popular argument for why we should be against those who are against us.

But I don't believe we can be victims. I believe we get what we vibrate. And I believe that everyone's a loved one, including the "terrorists." (You know that's not what they're called back home, right? They're heroes in the homeland. The same way our heroes are their terrorists.)

I think at this point in our evolution we know too much than to think of it as a pile of "us" and "them." We're in this together. We come from the same divine creator, and we each have the same powers to make our dreams come true.

We don't have to be part of each other's dream if we don't want to be. If you know how to pay attention, that is.

And I know how to pay attention. Anything that feels bad is worth re-thinking. Anything that feels better is on the right track. I don't just preach it; I practice it. Even on the tough subjects.

Plus I believe the way we often think about death isn't really accurate anyway. No one really dies, if we're going to get technical. Yes, it's a pretty good illusion, but we shouldn't get caught up in it if we can help it.

And conscious creators can help it. We know it is as we think it is.

Practice a different knowing if you don't like the one you've got. You get to choose.

For anyone thinking we are responsible to do something about what's going wrong in the world, this post is my answer to that: a reminder that our focus creates. Wherever we point it, those thoughts come to life.

Hey, really, did you see the baby elephants playing? Adorable! :)
