In the Vortex on an Average Day

In the Vortex on an Average Day

Yesterday I heard that June 22nd is officially designated as "Have an Average Day" Day.

(Which I can't confirm since my internet is down, but let's assume I heard right.)

The purpose of Have an Average Day Day is to - for just one day - suspend our 'striving to excel' and 'race to succeed' and rather just enjoy life as it is - a plain old normal day.

That sounds like a good idea to me in LOA world, where activating the vibrations of enjoyment, appreciation and presence for no "good" reason is a powerful instruction to send Universe.

It got me thinking about how I'm always quoting Abraham about getting in the vortex here and getting in the vortex there; that it's crucial we tend to our vibe by doing and thinking things that feel good.

(The vortex being Abraham's metaphor for creating vibrational alignment.  It simply means lining up energetically with what you want which allows it to happen much easier.)

It was Coach Carol Jackson, I believe, on a Good Vibe U thread who suggested that maybe we could get in the vortex just because ...  not needing our favorite music or most loved chocolate or daily dog walk or some other "ticket" to get in.

Rather, that maybe we could find our ideal vibrational alignment just as things are now - without needing anything to change or be different in order to feel good.

(My apologies, Carol, if I'm quoting you wrong!  I'd confirm if I had internet access to do so - ha!)

Anyway, this thought has got me thinking about how maybe I don't need to be at my favorite restaurant to feel my very best.  Maybe I can enjoy a handful of Sun Chips and smoked almonds for dinner just as much.

Maybe I don't need the radio to play all my favorite songs - maybe I can enjoy this Lady Gaga song (it is kind of catchy).  Maybe I don't need to make all the green lights in order to be on cloud nine in traffic.

Maybe I can find bliss in this moment just as it is, without an internet connection or access to email, instead of needing out of the ordinary fabulousness to feel my best alignment.

Maybe there doesn't have to be any spectacular news for it to be a spectacular, average day.  And maybe experiencing average days like this is the ultimate perfection in life.

Which makes me wonder about my coach's (who uses Byron Katie's Work) question a few months ago: "I can be out of the vortex; is it true?"

I don't know, but I like the question!

I will say this: I am absolutely loving this average day.  For no good reason.  :)
