Re-Paving: Any Such Thing as Too Late?
Most deliberate creators are familiar with the process of "pre-paving" where we imagine the results we want before beginning the activity or event.
Some of you may also know it as "segment intending" - where we simply hold the picture in mind of what we want before we engage the conversation, journey, or whatever we're starting. But what about those things that have already taken place? Is it too late to change a done deal?
- Maybe you were in the middle of a bad date when you realized you forgot to practice your powers of creation before you left the house. (Been there, done that.)
- Or maybe you sent an important email before you remembered to imagine the results you wanted. - Or my personal favorite - getting lost on the way to a new place and wishing I'd remembered to intend easy peasy travel.
Does our creative power only lie in affecting the future, with no ability to alter the past?
Kim Falconer's novel Arrows of Time is making me realize more than ever that we can use our powers to create the past as well as the future. After all, space and time are just illusions anyway, right?
As one of my favorite Notes from the Universe shares: "Time and space is your laboratory and playground." (12/17/2008) I think it's time we started playing with the notion of "time!"
Take the practice of ho'oponopono; Joe Vitale used it to improve his books that were already written and published. Just because it's done doesn't mean it's necessarily "done."
Talk about opening up a whole new playing field, huh?! I'm thinking it might be fun to experiment with re-paving. The next time you think you "forgot" to add good energy to a manifestation, consider that it's not too late.
You can still do your magic after the fact. It's just re-paving instead of pre-paving. Abraham says the reason it's important to intend in advance is because once you're in the middle of something it's more difficult to imagine it different.
So this skill of re-paving requires even more the ability to release our grip on reality. But that's what makes it all the more fun, right?!
Long time readers may remember I've done this before in a memorable exercise (with mom) that led to astounding results, but I haven't played with this as much as I'd like.
We can engage this not because there's so much gone "wrong" that needs changing, but just to develop even more power in what we're willing to consider possible.
Can you feel the box of our limiting beliefs breaking apart with this discussion? I can!
