What Are You Saying So?
The other day I spoke with a couple of old friends from work, and it struck me how differently we each used the power of our words, and also how differently our lives were unfolding.
It made me think of my own situation ...
How did I get so blessed in life? I'm not smarter or better connected. I'm not more gifted, it isn't the genes and it surely isn't luck.
It's that I learned how to say so. I'm not shy to claim it, and I'm not silly enough to think I have to work for it. I know how to tell Universe how it is for me. And I let it manifest the answer.
Because I know that our words literally come to life.
We are speaking and thinking our reality into being, either using words that bind us or liberate us. Words that thrive us or defeat us. Words that make us rich or make us poor. Words that grow love in our lives or words that shut it out.
Sometimes we throw thoughts around like they are inconsequential things, but these phrases we speak into being take hold in the world, getting stronger with repetition, until we believe in the reality they manifested more than we believe in our power to change it.
“I can't afford it.” “I'm so tired.” “They're doing a terrible job.” “You just don't get it.” “It's not working.”
That's not what we really want to breathe life into.
How about instead, “I'm doing alright.” Or even, “Wow, look at me go!” “This is so much fun!” “I'm getting the hang of this.” “It's all working out.” “I love it here!”
Whatever you say, becomes so.
Which is why Florence Scovel-Shinn said, “Your word is your wand.”
Let's watch where we point that thing. ;)
