What Manifesters Can Learn from Working Actors

Jeannette Maw

I just watched the documentary about the working actors whose names we don't know (That Guy … Who Was in That Thing), and couldn't believe how many great tips were there for deliberate creators.

I'll share just a few thoughts here, but if you get a chance to watch the show, please do. Here are some of my favorites:

Wade Williams (Prison Break) talked about “character hangover,” saying he gets cast as a**hole characters and doesn't like “having to go into this horrible kind of psyche of a guy like that.”

But he gets those roles regularly, and finds that sometimes in his real life he says the stuff like they would say, reflecting the same kind of negative attitude.

Which says to me that if we pretend it enough, we become it!

Another guy (Mr. President from 24) talked about how he said yes to everything that came his way, and his agent finally told him he needed to grow a pair and learn to say no.

“No is a password to the next level,” she told him.

That was especially cool for me to hear since my intention this year is to do less so I can be more. (I'll be using “no” as a way to get to a better “yes” life, too.)

Another actor talked about the challenge of getting work saying that “the times it works for me is when I really don't care.”

Meaning he gets hired when he doesn't try too hard or want it too bad. Conscious creators can relate, right?!

Anyway, there was lots of great stuff in it - but if you're not in the mood for a documentary, we have a ton of new posts at the blog that will ring at least one of your bells. Check out those below …

Big thanks to everyone I get to play with at Money Vibe Boot Camp and Path to Abundance! I'm having so much fun with fellow creators at both gigs, and loving the successes we're experiencing already! (Stay tuned for more opportunities to play this spring.)  :)
