What Feels Best? (A Simple Formula part 2)
In a Simple Formula Part 1, we talked about the simple manifesting formula: focus on what you want, and then do what feels good.
Those two ingredients will take you to whatever success you dare dream of.
Let's talk about doing what feels good.
This is the action step that many of us make harder than it needs to be. Likely because of what we've been trained to believe is required in order to get what we want, right?
But the truth is that Universe is way more resourceful and creative than we are, so the more we practice a "hands off" approach as to what "has to happen" in order to get what we want, the better.
Which means is that feeling good becomes really simple stuff. It's as easy as letting our inner guidance direct our next activity. (Even if that "activity" is a thought or a daydream or a nap.) What sounds inspiring?
What would be fun? What would we enjoy most? Respecting those answers (while focused on what we want) takes us straight to our dream come true.
This "taking inspired action" thing doesn't mean we figure out what has to happen in order for our desire to manifest and then choose the option that feels least bad. (Although that's how many play it.) Rather, we simply ask ourselves what feels best right now and honor whatever answer we get!
And no one else can predict what that might be.
So we can't rely on others telling us what to do - we have to feel it out for ourselves. That doesn't mean we can't use input from others; just that our own guidance has final say.
For example, if I want to be fabulously fit and toned, once I've found a way to focus on what I want (fitness) instead of what I don't want (extra weight), then I ask myself: what feels good? That answer might be:
- 20 minutes on the elliptical
- eat a veggie burger with guacamole & cheese
- call best girlfriend Pam to reconnect
- change clothes or shop for new ones
- relax with a good book
- satisfy a chocolate craving
- take a break - or a walk - with the dogs
- clean out the garage
- sit in the sauna
- run errands that have been waiting
All those answers have come to me at one point or another. Sometimes the feel good says chocolate, sometimes it says mow the lawn! The point being, I don't necessarily know what it's gonna be! And that's when it works best, when I'm 100% open to whatever the "feels good" answer is. Otherwise I'm tying Universal hands. (PS - this process is working for me, in case you wondered.) When I impose what I think is supposed to happen or what action I believe is required for me to achieve my goal, or let others tell me what I need to do, my vibe can get skewampus. (Is that a word?)
You know what I mean, though, right? When we take "supposed to" action like joining the gym, cutting calories, signing up for pilates, swearing off our favorite treats, etc., often those actions are not supportive of our highest vibration. And when we take any action that doesn't feel fabulous, we handicap our progress.
So yes, this is your official permission to throw out the rule book and truly let your inner guidance point the way.
