What We're In It For
Listen to this story I heard:
A usually frustrated and dissatisfied wife and mom manages to lose 40 pounds in two months, sees her teenage children become attentive and well-behaved, while her husband transforms into a supportive and extra caring sweetheart.
She starts getting compliments and well-wishes left and right, has a steady string of friends visiting, and even makes peace with her estranged brother.
Sounds like she got everything a girl could want, huh? That's some nice manifesting, there.
Until you hear that it came with a cancer diagnosis and treatment. (Not that I've got anything against cancer, but I suspect that wasn't on her wish list.)
Which I think has a couple good reminders to us deliberate creators:
First of all, we've got to learn to manage our vibration independent of external circumstances. Because the things and experiences don't make us happy - that's up to us. And even when Universe delivers what we say we want, it can't change the vibration we've been practicing for so long.
Second, we sometimes miss the real target of what we want. What we want is to feel good and be happy. (Or some derivative of that.) We want to feel better, not whatever job or boyfriend or ideal weight or dream house or new car or pot of gold is plastered on the vision board.
And we can feel better right now, before anything else in our life changes, simply by choosing it.
Sometimes a nice deep breath and a new thought facilitates that choice, but however you get there – my suggestion to all us deliberate creators is to remember what we're really in it for.
