When Feeling Good Isn't Cutting It

When Feeling Good Isn't Cutting It

We're having a discussion in the Good Vibe U forums about what to do when your vortex time isn't paying off.

Maybe you know someone who says (or maybe you've thought it yourself) that it can't be as simple as just "feeling good," because you've done that and all that happened was you got deeper in debt, gained more weight, or still haven't heard from the new lover.

So what gives?

What do you do when feeling good isn't resulting in the changes you want?

I suggested that when we feel good in order to get something or make something happen, it doesn't work.  That's not really "feeling good."  Getting in the vortex (as Abe calls it) with an agenda isn't really getting in the vortex.

For example, I don't listen to the Bee Gees and then jump on the scale to see how much weight I lost or check emails for a new client.

I listen to Bee Gees because I like the Bee Gees!  Not to make something happen.

Even though it's the same action, those are two different energies!

It's kind of like when a guy is doing all the right things on a date - opening doors, laughing at jokes, bringing flowers, etc. in order to get lucky ... that energy is very different than when someone opens a door because they genuinely want to open the door for you.

You ladies know what I'm talking about, right?  We can tell the difference.  The thing is, so can Universe.

That analogy might not hit home for everyone, but anyone who's felt themselves being "worked' by a date or a salesman or a politician has likely sensed that manipulation.

And that's what we're flowing when we get in the vortex (i.e. feel good) in order to make something happen.

Abraham says:

"When you are in that place of observing the change that hasn't taken place yet ... In other words, you're observing 'what is' even though you've been making the effort, doing the work, we want you to understand that every effort that you make in an attitude of trying to fix something that is broken just holds you in that vibration of resistance longer."  - San Antonio, Texas, April 2010

Dr. Phil Good (aka Phil G. who just led a fab call on Chinese Medicine and LOA yesterday afternoon) had this to say on the topic:

"... if we go into the Vortex with the intent of 'making something happen' chances are we're really not 'in' as much as we think."

Self Help Goddess (aka Mary K.) said:

"... the irony is that when you really get to that [feel good vortexy] place, the things you've always wanted come flying at you left and right because your resistance level is so low ... but by that point you've already moved on and forgot you were ever without that thing in the first place!!"

It became such a hot topic that Maria Lesetz is leading a call on it Monday the 23rd.  Details are on the calendar if you're interested in joining the conversation.

My suggestion is that we notice when we're trying to feel good in order to make something change, and recognize that that needing something to change is the very resistance that keeps it from changing.  Feel good just because it feels good; not to "fix" anything in your life.

And when you do, things will get even better!
